“Please Read First” is not just a book; it’s a celebration of sneaker culture, a tribute to the iconic Nike Air Max. Designed by Paq Works and brought to life by Ex Why Zed, this artistic endeavour brings the vibrant energy of streetwear onto paper. Let’s delve into how this stunning piece of lookbook printing for fashion brand came to be.
Nike, a world-renowned sportswear brand, and Offspring, a leading sneaker retailer, joined hands to create a mesmerising book that showcases their iconic Air Max series. When it came to designing this compelling narrative, the task fell to the innovative design studio Paq Works, renowned for their work on creative industry printing. This wasn’t just another job for us at Ex Why Zed; it was a collaboration that took the lookbook printing for fashion brand to a whole new level.
Drawing inspiration from the edgy aesthetics of streetwear and the dynamic design of the Air Max series, the book presents groundbreaking new perspectives on this iconic series. Rich with photographs, artwork, and insights, the book becomes a glorious tribute to all sneaker enthusiasts. Its cover – a standout piece featuring a camouflage dust jacket and a folded poster – encapsulates the ethos of sneaker culture. The full-colour CMYK+ Pantone 389 print throughout adds a vibrant touch to the artwork, making it a real feast for the eyes.
The book measures 240x170mm, with a 4pp cover printed onto 300gsm Uncoated and adorned with Matt Lamination on the outer side. The 66pp text is printed onto 120gsm Revive Offset 100% Recycled. We chose to print the job on our Heidelberg litho press, renowned for its excellent print quality.
Accompanying the book was a unique dust jacket, with a CMYK print single-sided onto 160gsm Diamant Transprint. This was then trimmed, folded and wrapped around the main book – an exquisite finishing touch that exemplifies our dedication to quality and detail in corporate printing.
