UCA Graphic Design Degree Show 2014: A Print Journey with Ex Why Zed
At Ex Why Zed, we’re all about transforming ideas into print. One of our most exciting projects was the UCA Graphic Design Degree Show 2014. We had the privilege of working with some of the most talented young designers in the UK, helping them showcase their work in a stunning printed catalogue. This case study will take you on a journey through this project, highlighting the creativity, collaboration, and high-quality printing that made it a success.
Man Overboard Show
The UCA Graphic Design Degree Show is a highlight of the academic year, showcasing the work of final year students. In 2014, the show was titled “Man Overboard,” a nod to the creative journey the students had embarked on. The catalogue needed to reflect this theme while providing a platform for each student’s work.
The Printing Process

At Ex Why Zed we are creative partners. We worked closely with the UCA team to understand their vision and translate it into a printed product. The catalogue was printed on high-quality uncoated paper, with a visually striking cover featuring soft touch lamination, fluorescent spot colour, and debossed title.
A Stunner of a Catalogue
The final product was a beautiful, little book that perfectly encapsulated the creativity and talent of the UCA Graphic Design students. The icons and colour combination of red, white, and blue throughout added cohesion to what was a superbly designed book.
